A Waymo driverless robotaxi struck a small, unleashed dog on a San Francisco roadway on Sunday night. The dog's condition remains unclear and Waymo said it has not received a status update. A Waymo spokesperson confirmed the vehicle made contact and said the company is dedicated to learning from the situation and improving road safety. A passenger riding in the vehicle reported the collision on Reddit, describing the dog as 20 to 30 pounds and rolling in the road when the vehicle rolled over it.
