India is positioning itself as a central player in the global artificial intelligence ecosystem, aiming to design and develop AI domestically and deploy solutions worldwide. The country plans to leverage large-scale digital public infrastructure such as digital ID and online payments to deliver low-cost AI across developing countries. The India AI Impact Summit included world leaders and tech executives, with U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres calling for a $3 billion fund to build AI capacity in poorer countries.
