Anduril Industries has unveiled new insights about its Fury drone during a CBS 60 Minutes segment, depicting the assembly process and highlighting its role as a collaborative combat aircraft for the US Air Force. This uncrewed fighter jet is designed to operate ahead of manned fighters, screening for threats and potentially engaging enemies autonomously. Its modular design allows for easy customization and scalability, aiming for mass production across various US workshops. The concept promotes the idea of drones acting as âloyal wingmenâ to enhance operational efficiency in combat scenarios.
"These fly out ahead of manned fighters, and they're able to find the enemy first, able to engage the enemy well before a manned fighter has to be seen or is in range."
Anduril says the Fury, like many of its other products, is built so that its parts can be easily swapped out and customized.
