Shawn Shen, 28, cofounder and CEO, is a former Meta AI research scientist who launched Memories.ai after leaving Meta. Memories.ai raised an $8 million seed round backed by Samsung and other investors and is building AI that can see and remember visual data. The startup announced compensation packages up to $2 million, mostly equity, to recruit researchers from Meta, Google, Microsoft, Anthropic, xAI and others. The company recently hired Chi-Hao Wu, a former Meta research scientist, as chief AI officer. The hiring push responds to industry reorganizations and high compensation trends that have prompted departures at large tech firms.
