Arsene Wenger has been advocating for changes to the offside rule for five years, aiming to eliminate controversial VAR decisions that have led to offsides being determined by minute fractions. His proposed change would allow players to be considered onside if any part of their body capable of scoring is level with the last defender. Despite his passion for reform, many believe this change could have disastrous implications for the sport. Wenger continues to emphasize that the advantage should favor the striker in uncertain situations, signifying his commitment to attacking football.
The most difficult issue that people have with VAR is the offside rule. You have had offsides by a fraction of a centimetre, literally by a nose.
You will no longer have decisions about millimetres and a fraction of the attacker being in front of the defensive line.
In case of doubt, the doubt benefits the striker. That means when there's a fraction, the striker could get the advantage.
I am also a big admirer of Wenger. The football Arsenal played under him was glorious at times.
