Kepa Arrizabalaga impressed by special' Arsenal duo Max Dowman and Marli Salmon
"Wow at 16, they play at the highest level. And how they play – they play so well. They're special kids who are used to training with us, they're used to being around us. They had the opportunity, I think they took it, and I'm so happy for them."
Arsenal defeated Mansfield 2-1 in the FA Cup fifth round, with manager Mikel Arteta fielding nine changes including highly-rated academy products. Max Dowman, at 16 years and 66 days, became Arsenal's youngest ever FA Cup player on his first appearance since recovering from an ankle injury. Defender Marli Salmon also performed well despite his age. Noni Madueke opened the scoring, but Will Evans equalized before Eberechi Eze secured the victory and Arsenal's place in the quarter-finals. Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga praised both young players for their composure and quality at the highest level.
