
Holloway’s streets were unusually quiet until about 5pm, when roars spread across north London’s Holloway Road near Emirates Stadium as Arsenal entered the Champions League final in Budapest against Paris Saint-Germain. The area’s Argos shop sign was altered to read “Ar-senal,” and pubs filled with supporters in red and white. Lucy (37) and Gregory (48) traveled from Paris but couldn’t get into the Victoria Tavern, where Lucy said the atmosphere was amazing and cited French players like Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira. Kai Havertz scored barely five minutes into the match, breaking the silence. Issac (42) arrived from Ghana to celebrate after Arsenal’s Premier League win, calling it the best thing ever.
