Apple is extending its Visual Intelligence feature from the iPhone 16 line to older models such as the iPhone 15 Pro, benefitting from the A17 Pro chip. This feature allows users to access AI models from Google and OpenAI for identifying objects through the camera, adding dates to calendars from flyers, and recognizing dog breeds. Moreover, it's now accessible via the Action Button, increasing user convenience. iOS 18.4, currently in beta, is set to enhance Apple News with a food section and will launch new Siri capabilities, delayed for a later release.
Visual Intelligence lets you draw on AI models from Google and OpenAI to find information about anything you point your iPhone's camera at.
As of the release of the iPhone 16e, Apple made it possible to use an Action Button to pull Visual Intelligence up.
