Recently, users testing Windows 11 encountered a nostalgic surprise when the boot sound was mistakenly replaced with the Windows Vista chime due to an error in the Dev Channel build 26200.5651. After users reported the issue, Microsoft responded by acknowledging the mistake and assured users they were working on a fix. Brandon LeBlanc of the Windows Insider team humorously noted it was simply a bug, quipping about the unintended throwback while also mentioning comparisons between Microsoft's and Apple's designs.
Windows testers started noticing the issue shortly after Microsoft released its latest Dev Channel build of Windows 11 on Friday afternoon.
This week's flight comes with a delightful blast from the past and will play the Windows Vista boot sound instead of the Windows 11 boot sound.
