Apple launched a second-generation AirTag with improved hardware and software. The device uses the same second-generation Ultra Wideband chip found in iPhone 17 and Watch Ultra 3. An upgraded Bluetooth chip expands Precision Finding range by about 50 percent and provides more reliable directional guidance. The speaker volume is nearly 50 percent louder for clearer audio cues. The device also offers haptic feedback and on-screen directional arrows to assist locating tagged items. The design remains similar to the original AirTag. The Find My network includes end-to-end encryption, anti-tracking protections, and a Share My Location feature for temporary accessory sharing.
