Apple has announced the expansion of its Self Service Repair program to include iPads, allowing owners to perform their own repairs at home using genuine parts and manuals. Available starting Thursday, the program supports models such as the iPad Air (M2 and later) and iPad Pro (M4). This initiative aims to increase the longevity of Apple products while maintaining safety, security, and privacy for users. Additionally, Apple has shared updates about its Genuine Parts Distributor program for independent repair professionals, enhancing access to genuine parts for repair businesses.
At Apple, our goal is to create the world's greatest products that last as long as possible. With today's announcement, we're excited to expand our repair services to more customers.
Launched in 2022, Self Service Repair allows consumers to do their own repairs at home if they're comfortable doing so by getting access to the same manuals used at Apple Store.
