AnduinOS: A simpler Ubuntu with a hint of Windows 11
Briefly

AnduinOS, created by a Chinese Microsoft engineer, revamps GNOME to mirror Windows 11 while based on Ubuntu 25.04. Currently in its fourth release, the operating system adopts existing extensions and themes to give a Windows feel without replacing Ubuntu's default desktop. With strong localization support and an eye on performance, AnduinOS caters to newcomers to Linux on older PCs. Notably, it drops the Snap packaging format and is lighter than Ubuntu. The aim is to ease users' transition while maintaining compatibility with both X.org and Wayland.
AnduinOS offers a fresh take on Ubuntu by modifying GNOME to resemble Windows 11, aiming to ease users' transition to a Linux environment.
The current version of AnduinOS, 1.3, introduces an interface that provides familiarity for Windows users while maintaining lightweight performance.
