"In 2024 VDL experienced an annual turnover of €4.281 billion, a fall of over 30% compared to the turnover of 2023 (€6.354 billion). The net result dropped by nearly 20% from €82 million in 2023 to €66 million. And it was 298 million euros in 2022! However, the bus division last year increased its turnover by 67% from €304 million in 2023 to €509 million."
Turnover for the first six months of 2025 amounted to €2 billion, down from €2.1 billion in the same period of 2024. Excluding the Car Assembly division, sales rose 2.5 percent. The order book has declined since the start of the year, primarily due to delayed bus deliveries. Annual turnover for 2024 was €4.281 billion, a fall of over 30% from €6.354 billion in 2023, and the net result dropped nearly 20% to €66 million. The bus division showed strong recovery, with 2024 turnover rising to €509 million and H1 2025 turnover at €270 million, driven by improved deliveries. Integration of VDL Van Hool is underway amid uncertainties from US import duties. Geopolitical instability and cost pressures negatively affect global competitiveness, especially for less complex or hard-to-automate products.
