The world's first four-axle double-decker coach is by Marcopolo (on a Volvo chassis)
""Once again, Marcopolo innovates and expands its portfolio of solutions for transportation across the African continent. The Paradiso G8 1800 DD RHD is the first four-axle model on the market, which until now relied on three-axle vehicles, and it is the only one with a capacity of 80 passengers and greater range, thanks to the 800-liter tank.""
""Among its technological innovations, the new coach is also the first double-decker in the South African market equipped with a mirror-cam system, replacing traditional mirrors and enhancing safety.""
Marcopolo has introduced the Paradiso G8 1800 Double Decker, the first four-axle coach with right-hand drive, specifically for the South African market. This model, built on a Volvo B510R Euro 6 chassis, accommodates 80 passengers and features an 800-liter fuel tank. It meets local technical and regulatory requirements and is part of an order for 21 units to be used by Intercape on international routes. The coach also includes a mirror-cam system for enhanced safety, marking a significant innovation in the region's transportation solutions.
