Train travel between Malmo and Copenhagen will be significantly impacted as only one track operates until June 9, leading to expected delays and crowded trains. Rail replacement work is being performed on the critical bridge-tunnel connection, with Skanetrafiken urging travellers to be patient during this time. Although replacement buses will be provided during peak periods, bicycles will not be allowed, and journey times, especially to Copenhagen Airport, may be extended. Refunds for train delays are possible, but missed flights due to delays will not be compensated.
Only one track will be open to traffic between Malmö and Copenhagen until June 9th, causing delays and requiring patience from travellers.
Skanetrafiken urged travellers to be understanding during urgent work to replace 3,500 metres of rails through the tunnel.
"We know how important train traffic across the bridge is for the region, and the bridge section in particular is sensitive," said Kevin Brandt Leander.
Replacement buses will be available during rush hour but are limited in capacity; bicycles won't be permitted on these buses.
