Laketran has unveiled the winners of the 2025 Design a Bus Wrap contest, with Lily Walker from Mentor High School claiming the top spot. Her design, themed "50 Years Of A Cleaner, Greener, Lake County!" will be showcased on a Dial-a-Ride bus for a year. The contest, which received over 110 entries from local middle and high school students, aimed to highlight public transportation's role and Lake County's environmental progress. Laketran CEO Ben Capelle emphasized the initiative's importance in promoting creativity and engagement among community youth, with Avery Dennison sponsoring the contest for the fifth year.
"I was inspired by the monarch butterflies that migrate to our marsh every summer. Their journey represents change and resilience, which felt perfect for celebrating Lake County's 50 years of being a greener place."
"We thrilled to offer local students the chance to incorporate public transportation with public art. Collaborating with local schools helps us foster creativity and engagement while highlighting the importance of public transportation in our region."
"The creativity of this year's entries truly impressed us, and it's clear that Lake County has some incredibly talented student artists."
"Avery Dennison is honored to sponsor this program for the fifth consecutive year, marking a truly meaningful milestone"
