From 3.0 platform to Hungary expansion: BYD Europe's vision explained by Managing Director Henry Zhang

"1,000 units is the initial phase of the Hungary factory expansion. More capacity will be added in the future. BYD intends to produce the full product range in Hungary as in China, this offering sufficient capacity to our customers' needs in this fast-growing European e-bus market. BYD is now rolling out the BYD eBus Platform 3.0 to all the buses offered in Europe."

BYD operates or has on order over 7,000 e-buses across 26 countries and 160+ cities in Europe and delivered its 5,000th European eBus to Danish operator Umove in 2025. Battery-electric bus registrations in Europe grew +41% in H1 2025, while BYD raised its market share from 5.5% in 2024 to nearly 10%. BYD is rolling out the eBus Platform 3.0, integrating the Blade Battery and an efficient electric architecture, and is increasing production capacity in Hungary with an initial 1,000-unit phase and plans to produce the full product range locally. The company is emphasizing intercity models, including the high-floor B12.b HF.
