EMT Madrid will introduce 120 new electric buses between 2026 and 2027, expanding its fleet of 452 fully electric buses. The largest contract includes 90 standard battery-electric buses from Irizar and Daimler Buses, while 30 articulated buses will be supplied by Solaris. The articulated buses will operate on line 34, and the new fleet is expected to increase the electric share to over 25% by 2027. Minimum operating ranges are set at 400 kilometers for standard buses and 320 kilometers for articulated models.
