Croatian capital Zagreb to launch tender for 70 electric buses - Sustainable Bus

ZET, the public transport operator in Zagreb, has initiated a preliminary consultation to purchase 70 electric buses as part of a transition to eco-friendly transportation. This initiative is valued at EUR 50 million and includes various types of buses, emphasizing electric and hydrogen power. The Mayor intends to fully electrify the fleet, building on the recent addition of an Iveco electric bus. The investment includes specific battery capacities required for operational efficiency, and national support is being provided to facilitate the necessary charging infrastructure.
The investment, valued at EUR 50 million, will cover three types of vehicles, including 33 12-meter electric buses and articulated buses, among others.
Zagreb aims to convert its entire ZET bus fleet to electric and hydrogen power, following the introduction of its first electric bus.
