The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) celebrated six public transportation providers and four agencies during its recent Mobility Conference in Austin, TX, honoring outstanding achievements in safety, security, and emergency management. The awards recognize innovative and proactive programs that improve the transit system's effectiveness for passengers and communities. Nominations for the 2025 Bus Safety, Security, and Emergency Management Awards were evaluated based on effectiveness, benefit, innovation, and transferability. Winners were categorized by bus ridership, with distinct accolades given for both safety and security initiatives.
"Congratulations to the award-winning public transit systems for developing outstanding safety, security and emergency management programs that set the standard for our industry," APTA President and CEO Paul P. Skoutelas said. "These innovative initiatives clearly demonstrate an unwavering dedication to enhancing the safety and security of passengers, transit workers, and the communities they serve."
