Airstream's new Frank Lloyd Wright trailer is a match made in midcentury heaven
Briefly

Airstream's CEO Bob Wheeler aimed for a meaningful collaboration with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation rather than a superficial licensing deal. The result is the 28-foot Airstream Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian Limited Edition Travel Trailer, reflecting both Wright's timeless designs and Airstream's commitment to functionality. With only 200 units priced at $184,900, this project demonstrates a dedication to authenticity in art collaborations, blending midcentury design appreciation with practical application. Wheeler's long-held dream culminates in this unique partnership, showcasing how art and function can harmoniously coexist in consumer products.
Instead, the brand embarked on a multiyear collaboration with the experts at Wright's Taliesin West home and studio in Scottsdale, Arizona, and today the two are rolling out the 28-foot Airstream Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian Limited Edition Travel Trailer.
We said, 'All right, let's make sure that everything has a purpose and a function—that way it's not just a pastiche, or some kind of lame attempt to mimic something,' said Wheeler.
