Ma'alot Farms sits on a hill in Los Gatos and produces hundreds of pounds of produce donated to food banks and kitchens to address local food insecurity. The farm uses sustainable, regenerative agricultural processes to provide diverse foods year-round and to restore soil and ecosystem health. Ma'alot Farms functions as an alternative source of food amid reductions to federal nutrition assistance. Shoshana and Philip Ohriner purchased and restored an abandoned walnut grove in 2017, installed water systems in 2022, planted a thousand fruit and nut trees, and continue expanding production and resilience to climate change.
