NASDA announced its 2025 Honor Award recipients, recognizing four individuals and one organization at the annual meeting in Rogers, Arkansas. NASDA President and Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward presented awards celebrating outstanding service, communication excellence, administrative leadership, and collaborative partnerships. Heather Lansdowne, Director of Communications for the Kansas Department of Agriculture, received the 2025 Communications Award for media and public communications that enhance public understanding of agriculture. Lansdowne cultivated respect and connections with Kansas farmers and ranchers over a decade and translated complex animal and plant health issues into clear, relatable messaging. Her work bridges the gap between agricultural professionals and consumers, improving understanding of farming practices, food safety, and innovations.
