Ruben Loftus-Cheek opened the scoring earlier, and Milan missed a penalty and several other chances before breaking through. In the 85th minute, Luka Modric, the oldest player on the field, ended Pisa's stern resistance. Ricci stumbled inside the box, guided the ball into Modric's path after a pass into his feet, and Modric calmly lifted the finish over the goalkeeper to secure the decisive goal.
