TMW: Leao's price slashed by 30m in a few months - Milan's issue as two rivals call
Rafael Leao’s future at AC Milan is unclear as his market value has dropped. He is reportedly available for around €50m, down from Milan’s earlier asking price near €80m. Galatasaray showed interest, and Fenerbahce has now joined the list. Both clubs are prepared to raise Leao’s earnings substantially from his current €6.5m net per season, offering about €10–12m net per season. A key obstacle is whether Leao will accept a move to the Turkish league, since he intends to stay at a top club in a top league. At present, only Turkish offers are available, and the Turkish window closing in September could affect timing. Milan must also make major leadership hires after recent mass sacking, and Leao could consider waiting to see how the situation develops.
"Rafael Leao's future at AC Milan remains a bit of a mystery. In the meantime, his price tag has dropped but not many clubs have come forward. TMW report that Leao is now on the market for a fee around €50m, much lower than the club's asking price of around €80m a few months ago. Galatasaray expressed an interest recently, and now their biggest rivals Fenerbahce have joined the list of interested clubs."
"Both of them are willing to offer Leao a big increase on his current €6.5m net per season contract, with wages of around €10-12m net per season on the table from the Istanbul giants. Leao's stance There's a problem for Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, however: it's unknown whether Leao will accept a destination like the Turkish league. His intention is to continue at a top club in a top league if he is to move."
"However, the situation isn't looking good here either, as there are no offers other than those from the Turkish clubs as things currently stand. The fact that their window closes in September could potentially unlock the deal even after the final whistle of the Italian mercato, as it did with Osimhen. Obviously, Milan won't wait until then, but in the meantime the club have a lot to figure out."
"They must hire a new head coach, sporting director, technical director and CEO after the mass sacking on Monday. As Matteo Moretto reported, Leao could choose to wait to see how things look."
