Sulemana joins Atalanta from Saints in 18m deal

Kamaldeen Sulemana has transferred from Southampton to Atalanta for a fee that could reach 18 million euros. Southampton has included a sell-on clause in the agreement. Sulemana, who signed for Southampton in 2023 for a club-record fee of 22 million euros, made 74 appearances with four goals and seven assists in two-and-a-half years. He originally joined from Rennes on deadline day in February 2023. His transfer allows him to reunite with former Southampton manager Ivan Juric, now at Atalanta. Southampton has also sold Paul Onuachu, another player signed on the same deadline day.

The Ghana international was brought to St Mary's from French side Rennes and links up again with former Southampton manager Ivan Juric at Atalanta.
Southampton has already sold striker Paul Onuachu, who was also signed in the same window as Sulemana under the then boss Nathan Jones.
