"After the game, when Milan celebrated with their fans at the away end, Füllkrug was visibly disappointed and almost hid under his hood. Rafael Leao went over to the striker and encouraged him to enjoy the moment, per MilanNews, giving him some much-needed support. The German likely won't play the next game from start, but the Rossoneri still need him as a solution off the bench, especially the strength he adds in the box with his physique."
Niclas Füllkrug came on at half-time for Christopher Nkunku and was involved in a goal by Adrien Rabiot that was disallowed for handball on Füllkrug. Milan were later awarded a penalty after Strahinja Pavlovic was brought down in the box, and Füllkrug struck the outside of the post. He was substituted in the final minute and appeared very disappointed after the match. Rafael Leao and teammates consoled Füllkrug during the celebrations. Füllkrug is unlikely to start the next match but remains a useful option off the bench for his physical presence in the box. The referee correctly refused a retake despite defender encroachment.
