Matthias Jaissle is presented as Ralf Rangnick’s preferred choice to lead AC Milan’s rebuild if Rangnick agrees with Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to take a technical director role. Jaissle was brought into Hoffenheim’s first team by Rangnick at age 19 and later moved into coaching after an injury-heavy playing career ended at 26. He worked in youth coaching at RB Leipzig, assisted Alexander Zorniger at Brondby, and reunited with Rangnick at RB Salzburg and its satellite club Liefering. He became Salzburg head coach in 2021, winning two league titles and an Austrian Cup, and later coached Al-Ahli, winning a Saudi Super Cup and two consecutive Asian Champions Leagues while using evolving formations.
