Michael Matthews returns to Milan-San Remo, driven by his narrow defeat last year. With three podium finishes over 11 years yet still without a win, this seasonâs preparation has been intensified, as he has extensively reconnoitered the route. Matthews recalled how a lapse in concentration during last year's sprint, caused by a sunglasses mishap, cost him victory. As he heads into this 289km race with a supportive team, he is eager to achieve his goal, putting previous disappointments behind him.
