Luka Modric has signed a one-year deal with AC Milan after leaving Real Madrid, where he spent 13 successful seasons. Modric, a childhood supporter of Milan, emphasized that he will not tolerate mediocrity following Milan's eighth-place finish in Serie A. He stated that the club must strive for the highest goals, competing for titles among the best teams. Modric was particularly impressed by Milan's sporting director Igli Tare, who traveled to Croatia to present the club's vision, which solidified his decision to join the team.
"Milan cannot be satisfied with average. It needs to have the biggest goals possible, to win titles, to compete with the best teams in the world. And that's why I'm here."
"When I grew up, I used to watch a lot of the Italian league and Milan was my favorite team. At the time in Croatia we followed Milan a lot because it was one of the most popular clubs in the world."
