GdS: Milan lead Inter and San Siro leads Europe - the attendance data so far in 2025-26
"AC Milan are leading Inter when it comes to average attendances at home games, having won the battle last season too. As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) report this morning, Milan home games average 72,916 spectators compared to their rivals' 70,814. The Rossoneri have already faced Napoli and Roma at San Siro though, while the Nerazzurri have some big games to come."
"If we broaden the discussion to the whole of Europe, Milan are the only Italian team to enter the top five behind Borussia Dortmund (81,365), Bayern Munich (75,000), Manchester United (73,969) and Real Madrid (73,782). Inter are hot on their heels in the special ranking of stadium attendance. In 2024-25, the Nerazzurri averaged 70,129 fans, but it should not be forgotten that the team then coached by Simone Inzaghi went all the way to the Champions League final."
Milan home games average 72,916 spectators, outpacing Inter's 70,814, with Milan having already hosted Napoli and Roma while Inter face significant fixtures ahead. The November 23 derby, with Inter as hosts, could narrow the gap. San Siro's Meazza average of nearly 73,000 is the highest since 1992-93, when Fabio Capello's side drew about 77,000 per game and the stadium held over 85,000 before safety reductions. The stadium audience now includes more tourists and international fans. Milan are the only Italian club in Europe's top five attendance rankings, and Milano is driving renewed Serie A stadium interest.
