CM: Milan still considering Frendrup move as Genoa race price - the situation
"Despite rejigging the midfield in the summer, it seems AC Milan are still interested in adding to the area in the mercato. Luka Modric, Adrien Rabiot, Samuele Ricci and Ardon Jashari all joined Milan last summer, and there is a case to be made about the Rossoneri having one of the best midfields in Italy. Perhaps, even, the best. However, it seems the club may want to add further reinforcements to the area."
"As Calciomercato.com writes, Morten Frendrup was a target in the summer, but the Diavolo did not seal a deal - nor did Napoli, Inter or Roma, who were also in the market for a player like him. So, he remains at Genoa. It may not be for long, though, with reports suggesting that Inter and Roma are considering making another attempt in the January mercato, whilst the Rossoneri remain an interested party. Albeit with less urgency to make a move."
AC Milan strengthened midfield last summer with Luka Modric, Adrien Rabiot, Samuele Ricci and Ardon Jashari, creating arguably one of Italy's best midfields. Despite those signings, the club is eyeing further reinforcements because of overreliance on Modric and limited depth after injuries. Morten Frendrup remained at Genoa after interest from Milan, Napoli, Inter and Roma in the summer. Inter and Roma are reportedly considering January bids, while Milan retain interest with less urgency. He could cost around €15–20 million, and his age (24) makes him an attractive, affordable option.
