"Maybe we didn't deserve to be here, but we're taking advantage of the new format. Usually, the Italian champions and the Coppa Italia champions are playing. They've given us and Milan a gift. We'll play our best. We have to play game after game with desire and determination. Head-to-head matches? We have to give our all, because no one gives us anything. We come out winners or losers, but we come out with our heads held high after putting in all our effort."

The four-team Supercoppa Italiana format allowed teams that did not win the league or Coppa Italia to qualify. AC Milan benefited for a second consecutive season by entering the competition as Coppa Italia runners-up after previously qualifying as league runners-up. Inter also entered despite finishing 2024-25 without silverware, after near-misses across competitions. Under the traditional winner-vs-winner format, the Supercoppa final would have been Napoli versus Bologna. Participants intend to take advantage of the format, approach each game with desire and determination, give their all in head-to-head matches, and accept outcomes with heads held high after full effort.
