Bianchin: Crystal Palace still blocking Mateta exit as Milan schedule new talks
"Crystal Palace are yet to give AC Milan the go-ahead for the transfer of Jean-Philippe Mateta, with the Rossoneri now expected to make new attempts between tonight and tomorrow. Milan have accelerated their pursuit of Mateta, to say the least, by tabling an offer worth €30m in recent days. However, as was also explained by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, they still need Crystal Palace to find a replacement for the deal to go through."
"No dice for Mateta Sadly, so far, the English side haven't succeeded on that front and it has subsequently halted the Rossoneri's pursuit. According to Luca Bianchin, they tried to get the go-ahead earlier today but were unable to, meaning the potential arrival will be delayed. Between tonight and tomorrow, as Bianchin continues, Milan will hold new talks with Crystal Palace to try to close the deal. It might just be that positive news arrives on the replacement front, which would unlock Mateta's move to San Siro."
Crystal Palace has not granted permission for Jean-Philippe Mateta to join AC Milan because Palace must first secure a replacement. AC Milan has offered €30m and intensified efforts, but the lack of a Palace replacement has halted progress. Palace's failure to find a replacement prevented an earlier go-ahead and delayed the transfer. Milan plans further talks between tonight and tomorrow to try to finalize the move. A Palace replacement would enable the deal to proceed, and Milan could consider improving the offer to obtain the necessary approval.
