Recently, I was tasked with helping to train a new hire: a much younger guy who has a superior ranking to me. He picks up things quickly. But the issue is that he overshares personal information and asks too many personal questions. He has been having romantic issues, which he talked about with another person and me. One day, he even had an emotional breakdown (crying and yelling) at work, which required soothing and calming him down.

My office went remote during the pandemic, an arrangement which became permanent, much to my delight. I love working from home for all of the reasons one might: from kids, to pets, to putting dinner in the crockpot on my lunch hour, to saving money on clothes, food, and gas. I have reclaimed HOURS of my day! I have time to exercise! It's amazing.

My wealthy uncle, whose two sons produced no grandchildren, "adopted" my children as his own grandchildren. As such, he promised to pay for their college educations-completely. He put some of the money into their bank accounts and assured me that he had instructed his younger son to dole out the rest of the promised money when the time came. As far as I know, the only written record of this promise was an email I had sent to him, expressing my gratitude.

I apologize ahead of time to anyone who works in mental health care. You've all done so much to reduce stigma and encourage people to get help when they need it. It would be really very wrong to use persisting stigma to get out of an awkward situation at work. And some of the worst trolls are "concern trolls," who say "I'm just worried about..." to use concern to undermine people.
