I thought I'd package up my previous wrapper for Mastodon support, port over my BoxLang Bluesky module, and properly release the code on GitHub for folks who want it. Right now I'm using one repo for both Bluesky and Mastodon. Usually I'd separate them, but with the support being a grand total of one file each, I figured no one would mind getting the extra code if they only care about one.
Noticed that there is now a 'web mentions' section showing on store page URLs for eCommerce sites. Mostly just linking to comments made by people on social media and Reddit. Only shows if you're located in the US.
One thing that the blog post doesn't make clear, though, is whether or not Google will give users any sort of control over what new content types they see from creators on their pages. I, personally, don't really want to see posts from X and other social media networks in Discover, so hopefully we'll be able to turn them off or tune them out somehow if we'd rather stick to websites.
