We are thrilled to announce that the esteemed husband-and-wife duo, Chef Thomas and Chef Vanessa Tilaka Kalb of Agnes Restaurant & Cheesery, will host this year's event. Known for their refined, ingredient-driven approach, the Tilaka Kalbs have significantly influenced Pasadena's modern dining landscape. Their restaurant, celebrated for its Californian comfort food rooted in classic American cooking, emphasizes a seasonal, farm-to-table philosophy.

According to city officials, and a plaque, one of the world's most famous dishes started in Pasadena when, more than 100 years ago, a careless teenager accidentally invented the cheeseburger. "The cheeseburger is a legacy here in Pasadena and this is a nice way to focus on Pasadena restaurants," said Paul Little, president and chief executive officer of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, which honors the simple but ubiquitous dish every year with Cheeseburger Week.

It's something of a family reunion for more than 25 La Cocina alumni, including some of the city's most celebrated chefs and business owners, including James Beard nominees and Bon Appetit "Best New Restaurant" honorees.
