Dalporto sees AI as a key part of the company's toolkit in addressing some of the challenges that its roughly 13,500 employees across its 300-plus stores might encounter. This summer, the company launched a chatbot called Rig Advisor to help customers find the right products. And in November, it rolled out an employee training tool called Pitch Practice that simulates customer interactions.
We told you that inside the app's settings you can opt to use Google's AI Mode for all general inquiries. And if you flip that switch, anything you type into the app that isn't a search for some manner of local or Drive-connected data will end up in an interactive chatbot-style question-and-answer session instead of in a more traditional web-style search result listing.
I know I mentioned my profession to him, but I am pretty sure he was the one who engaged me that way. I also know how diabolically good a chatbot can be at saying what is on the tip of your tongue, and doing it before you can, and better than you might have. That makes me feel less troubled by my uncertainty.
