Update to plans for 120-home development in Harold Hill approved
Briefly

Havering Council has approved modifications to an initial plan for a housing development on the site of a former college in Harold Hill. The revised proposal from developer Bellway will consist of 120 homes, now including additional refuse collection points and alterations to the ground floor layout. Planning Director Helen Oakerbee deemed the changes minor and not requiring a full resubmission. The project, named Roe Wood Park, was first proposed in 2021 following the college's closure in 2020, with home completions expected this year.
Havering Council approved an amendment to a proposal for 120 homes on the former Havering College site, adding amenities like rubbish collection points.
Helen Oakerbee described the amendment as 'acceptable' and of 'minor nature', indicating no need for a new planning application.
Developer Bellway and Mercury Land Holdings presented their plans for Roe Wood Park in July 2021, targeting home completion by the end of this year.
The site of the development was previously occupied by Havering College, which closed in 2020, paving the way for residential housing.
