At nineteen, I was practically Christian, not out of religious devotion but fear of losing control. I longed for a deeper understanding amidst a facade of devotion to routine.
Growing up secular, intellectual, and lapsed, the author struggled to find the expansive bliss beyond routine. Despite academic analysis of sacred texts, there was a yearning for a deeper connection.
