Having spent most of my life in Minnesota, I never could have imagined that I'd feel most like myself fishing in the Pacific waters off the south-east Alaska coast.
Fishing with my family taught me to have reverence for nature, optimism about future prosperity and patience for what was to come.
Upon seeing an unexpected email pop up from my estranged mom in 2012, I contemplated leaving it unopened.
