My first memory is fear. I'm a child and my sister Emma* is older, bigger and stronger than me. She has no speech, but screams loudly when upset. The thing is that we don't know what upsets her, and sometimes neither does she.
She has what we later come to know as profound autism, and hits us when we do something wrong.
