"Mother Mary Comes to Me" will be released in September 2025 and draws inspiration from her mother's life, reflecting on Roy's personal and professional journey.
Scribner describes Roy's memoir as an "astonishing, often disturbing and surprisingly funny" narrative that traces her life from childhood in Kerala to her present life in Delhi.
Mary Roy, whose life was fictionalized in "The God of Small Things," was a celebrated educator highly regarded by her daughter and the subject of her forthcoming memoir.
