Women who played sports are more likely to be business leaders
Briefly

A 2023 Deloitte survey found that 69% of women who earn more than $100,000 per year and are in leadership roles played competitive sports—and 85% of women who played sports say the skills they developed playing sports were important to success in their professional careers. This statistic emphasizes the direct link between sports participation and enhanced career prospects, showcasing how the lessons learned on the field translate to real-world success.
The Women’s Sports Foundation surveyed 2,886 women aged 20 to 80 and found that 69% of those who played sports hold at least one formal leadership role outside of the family. Additionally, 71% of those in leadership roles have titles such as "manager," "director," "president," or "C-suite executive." These findings illustrate a strong correlation between sports participation in youth and holding significant leadership roles later in life.
