Discord is making it easier for app developers to make money
Briefly

Discord is introducing a new 'Growth' tier for the platform's monetization terms, reducing the platform fee to 15% for the first $1 million in cumulative gross sales, starting June 6th.
Developers on Discord will now be able to offer one-time purchases for products like games, cosmetic skins, and premium assets, expanding monetization options beyond subscriptions.
The platform offers options for selling durable one-time purchase SKUs with permanent benefits or consumables that can expire. Developers can also list their items through a new store surface on Discord.
Discord's recent focus on gaming-related features and tools reflects a shift back to its gaming roots after a period of trying to establish itself as a general chatting app during the pandemic.
