Nintendo President Shinto Furukawa shared that 'we will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year,' which ends on March 31, 2025.
Furukawa noted that the announcement for the Nintendo Switch successor will come over nine years after Nintendo first alluded to the Switch's existence as 'Project NX' in March of 2015.
The reports have suggested that Nintendo is aiming for an early 2025 release for the updated hardware, with select third-party developers already having access to the Switch 2 since the middle of last year.
