Microsoft asks many Game Pass subscribers to pay more for less
Briefly

For years, Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass has provided launch-day access to new first-party titles. A new tier structure with price increases shifts the landscape, affecting day one access.
Existing tiers face price adjustments: 'Game Pass Ultimate' increases to $19.99, 'Game Pass for PC' to $11.99, and 'Game Pass Core' (previously Xbox Live Gold) to $74.99 annually.
The 'Xbox Game Pass for Console' tier at $10.99 per month will no longer accept new subscriptions. A new $14.99 'Xbox Game Pass Standard' tier will offer a different structure.
The replacement tier merges access to 'hundreds of high-quality games' and 'online console multiplayer.' Notably, 'Day One releases' of Xbox Game Studios titles are no longer guaranteed offerings.
