The Taiwanese game-rating committee's official website also contains a surprise: The committee has rated the original Octopath Traveler for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, suggesting it will soon join its sequel on PlayStation consoles (via Gemastu).
But the fact that it has been rated at all is likely indicative that the PlayStation release is indeed happening. Giving PlayStation users access to the sequel without giving them access to the original game doesn't make a whole lot of sense...
The fact that the game has now been rated for PlayStation in Taiwan certainly gives fans of the franchise a reason to celebrate. Although Square Enix did announce Octopath Traveler II's arrival on Xbox consoles, it has yet to announce exactly when that arrival will happen...
