Voice and Tone in Product Design
Briefly

Tone refers to the emotional inflection applied to the voice, and it can vary depending on the context and situation. The voice remains consistent, but tone adapts to the user's needs, emotions, and specific scenarios.
When users face error states, they aren't looking for humor or chumminess. Instead, they want straightforward information about how to fix the problem, as this approach is much more effective in addressing user concerns.
Four dimensions of tone of voice include: Focus on our users' needs, priorities, and goals; convey your personality; use simple words, and write in sentence case to enhance clarity.
When choosing a tone, consider who is speaking and to whom; this helps in tailoring the message more effectively and ensures that communications are both clear and appropriate for the audience.
