Did we fail to develop the next generation of designers?
Briefly

We weren't always so close-minded to new designers entering the field. We weren't always over-focused on visuals. Remember that people's soft skills matter greatly, and their hard skills are teachable.
Many who entered the UX design field originally came from various backgrounds beyond design like teaching, philosophy, and engineering, fostering a welcoming and collaborative environment for learning and growth.
